"Thanks for not giving up on me."
That was the message I received today via email. As I read the words, my eyes filled with tears. Although I didn't give up in this case, I couldn't help but think of all of the other people I had "written off" in my lifetime:
- My father
- An old friend
- A potential client
Don't get me wrong. I had my reasons. After all, some people are just stupid, loud, non-responsive, or draining—I would justify.
The truth is…they weren’t perfect. And for that matter, neither am I.
One Thing I Know for Sure: Until you are able to accept others, you will never be able to accept yourself.
