I have never been very disciplined when it comes to eating. Growing up, being rewarded with cookies for a job well done was the norm. And cake--which in truth does contain eggs, milk, and sugar--could easily pass for breakfast. Still, as I've grown older, this unintentional way of eating has taken a toll on me. 10 extra pounds has gradually turned into 20 or 30. And, more importantly, I just don't feel as good as I need to.
At 40 years old, I'm interested in reinventing what I consume. That's why I've decided to alter my eating habits. To be clear, this is not a diet (although I have rejoined Weight Watchers), but a new way to look at food and my choices. My goal? To have the foods I love, give my body what it needs, and see what the impact is. I'll keep you posted on the outcome.
